Writing a book about Catalyntje Trico has taken much time and effort. I didn’t have any training in writing, but I had a story in my soul that needed telling. Through this process of writing this book, I have learned how to dig deeply into research, organize information, and write much better than before.
When I started writing this book, I didn’t realize I needed to learn other skills besides writing. So, I’ve learned how to edit, proofread, and connect with others on social media. Each part of this process has forced me to reach beyond my comfort zone.
Writing my book has been a lengthy process with many unexpected turns, but I have enjoyed every step along the way. Writing this book about Catalyntje was my own idea; no one suggested it or assigned it to me. I felt compelled to write it once I learned about her incredible life; I couldn’t stop thinking about her, so I just started writing. There have been many days when I’ve come home exhausted after teaching junior high all day. But most evenings, I could not ignore the pull to continue writing about Catalyntje, so I just kept going.
