One of the most enjoyable parts of writing my historical novel has been the Zoom meetings with my editor, Elisabeth. She is delightful, extremely knowledgeable about the English language and Dutch history, and has so many fascinating stories to share from her life. Each time we meet on Zoom, we talk about my novel, life today, and life long ago for two to three hours. Elisabeth is an incredible resource for the English language, and I have learned a lot from her. She also possesses a deep understanding of Dutch History, and I enjoy all she has shared with me about the recent history of the Dutch and their history from four hundred years ago.
Elisabeth and I live on opposite sides of the United States, so we’ve never met in person. However, we have become good friends through our interactions on Zoom and emails. Each time we interact, I am amazed to live in today’s world, where there are many opportunities to communicate with the various technologies available.
