Tonight at midnight, the Kindle version of my historical fiction novel, “Catalyntje Trico: A Life in New Amsterdam,” is available for download on Amazon. I am beyond excited to finally have her story available for anyone to read.
Ever since I started researching Catalyntje’s life, I have been deeply moved by her courage, independence and determination. The more I learned about her, the more I felt compelled to tell her story so everyone could be inspired by her extraordinary life.
To many people, Catalyntje is an unfamiliar woman from the past. Though she was common, she lived her life boldly yet compassionately under difficult circumstances. Her life is unique and impressive, especially since we live in a time of convenience and ease of communication. Those who already familiar with Catalyntje are intrigued and impressed with her life.
I am thrilled to think about people from different places around the world reading my novel and getting to know Catalyntje as they sit in their living rooms, hang out at the beach, or ride the subway to work. As you each read Catalyntje’s story, I hope you will come to love and admire her as much as I have.
